Handset Popularity Differs in America & India

Survey conducted by ChangeWave Research showed 82% of American users were very satisfied with their iPhone handsets. The results do not represent the general population but they provide a real-time view of business trends well in advance of other available sources.

% of satisifed user for other handsets covered in the ChangeWave survey-

RIM- 52%
Sanyo- 46%
LG- 44%
Nokia and Samsung- 36%
Palm- 35%
Motorola- 33%
Sony Ericsson- 31%

At the same time IDC conducted a mobile phone satisfaction survey in India. Survey results shows Sony Ericsson at top of the list.

  1. Sony Ericsson
  2. Motorola
  3. Nokia

Unfortunately, neither the iPhone or RIM’s Blackberry were included in the Indian study. However, it is strange that those brands with the least satisfaction in the US got top ratings in India.

The different results in the two countries tell us that the surveys reveal as much about the respondents, about the environment, and, perhaps, about the surveys themselves as they tell us about the mobile devices.
