Google services pre-installed on LG handsets

LG Electronics and Google have announced a global collaboration to pre-install Google's services on LG mobile phones. LG handsets, pre-installed with Google products and services will be shipped globally including North America, Europe and Asia starting in the second quarter of 2007.

Ocean from Helio

US 3G operator Helio released its newest handset, Ocean. A full-featured device for a still small service packed with advanced applications.

Ocean is a dual slider, it slides one way to reveal a numerical dial pad, and another way to provide access to a full QWERTY keyboard for messaging.

Symbian OS Ver 9.5

Symbian launched OS Ver 9.5 which can start up software applications 75% faster than its earlier OS platforms. Symbian OS v9.5, backward compatible with all versions of the v9 family, also include support for SQL databases.

Samsung Auto-adapt Sunshine screen

Samsung has developed a 2.1" LCD panel for high-end mobile devices that will provide qVGA resolution and is equipped with sensors designed to adjust brightness to optimize ambient lighting. Screen brightness get adjusted automatically to enhance readability under any lighting condition.

The Samsung panel consumes 20%-30% less electric power than other displays with the same size and resolution. To enable extremely slim mobile designs, the new LCD mobile display makes use of a proprietary technology called Adaptive Brightness Control (ABC).

Mobile content download fails

Studies conducted by Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF) members show 25% of mobile content transactions fail to complete. This inevitably results in revenue loss for both operators and content providers with disappointment and disillusionment at user front, who become less likely to try again with poor experience they have each time.
