3G Mobile Services to Come by Mid 2008 in India

India's telecommunications service providers may likely be able to start offering 3G, mobile communication services in the country by mid-2008.

3G services will enable mobile users to access high-speed data services such as movie on demand and mobile TV on their handsets.

The defense ministry of India is expected to free some radio bandwidth that can be deployed for commercial use by mobile phone operators.
