India’s CDMA2000 Subscriber Base Crossed 50 Million

The CDMA Development Group (CDG) on Sunday announced that India's CDMA2000 subscriber base has surpassed 50 million fixed and mobile device users. Subscriber growth reached this milestone just in 4 years, while it took GSM more than 10 years to reach the same number.

The CDG attributes this rapid growth in the region to the economic delivery of differentiated VAS, network expansion into the rural areas of India and the growing availability of very low-end (VLE) devices.
